Head of Finance / Finance Director– £75,000 + DOE– London (Hybrid)
The Role
Are you ready to steer the financial strategy of a growing SME, transforming it into a scalable powerhouse? Can you combine hands-on expertise with strategic vision to drive growth and deliver real impact? Cult Furniture, an SME with sky-high ambitions is looking for a Head of Finance / Finance Director to join our team.
In this role, you’ll lead the financial journey of Cult Furniture, guiding our ambitious growth plans and shaping our future. This isn’t just about numbers – it’s about knowing how to navigate a business through change, creating structure where needed, and unlocking untapped potential.
We work hybrid so being a great communicator is also key, whether that’s during the two days in the office or remote, keeping our team ethos and values alive is a top priority. As part of the exec team this role will also require one further day a month in the office for the monthly board meeting.

Key Responsibilities:
*Financial Planning: Lead budgets, forecasts, and analysis to ensure we’re always moving in the right direction.
*Financial Control: Maintain oversight of the business’s financial health, ensuring robust systems safeguard our future.
*Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and regulations, keeping us on solid ground.
*Risk Management: Identify opportunities and risks, crafting strategies to maximise growth and reduce exposure.
*Team Leadership: Inspire and develop the finance team, encouraging innovation and high standards.
*Cash Flow Management: Optimise cash flow strategies to maintain a strong trading position.
*Taxation Strategy: Ensure adherence to tax regulations, with clear and compliant strategies.
*Strategic Input: Work closely with senior management, providing financial insight to shape company strategy.

The Person
*A fully qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA certification.
*Strong SME experience, including scaling businesses and implementing structure during growth.
*A track record of navigating change, identifying challenges, and driving solutions.
*Retail industry knowledge (furniture experience not essential).
*Proficiency in financial platforms – experience with SAGE 200 and Shopify is a bonus.
*Exceptional communication skills, able to collaborate across departments.
*Experience of leading a business towards an exit is advantageous.
