Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Bradford
Contract Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Considered)

We are looking for a committed and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school in Bradford that specializes in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role involves working closely with children who display challenging behaviors, providing them with the support and guidance they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
*Support students with SEMH needs in their academic and personal development.
*Implement individualized strategies to manage and improve challenging behaviors.
*Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
*Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student progress.
*Utilize trauma-informed practices to understand and address the needs of students.
Requirements:
*Proven experience working with children who display challenging behaviors.
*Strong character and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
*Understanding and empathy towards the diverse backgrounds of our pupils.
*Preferable: Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
*Transferable experience from roles such as support worker, care homes, young offenders, etc.
