Job Description:
Our client, a prestigious insurance company, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their team in the dynamic insurance industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to contribute to key financial operations and play an essential role in supporting their finance function.
This role requires attendance in the office 3–4 days per week, offering a balance between collaboration and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
*Assist in the management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ledgers, including importing invoices, posting receipts, and processing payments.
*Reconcile supplier and client accounts and address related queries efficiently.
*Handle weekly banking functions, including preparing cash books, setting up payments, and completing month-end bank reconciliations.
*Support the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
*Prepare Client Money calculations and assist with regulatory reporting requirements.
*Monitor and action emails in the central Finance inbox, delegating to subject matter experts when necessary.
*Process payroll journals and monitor expense systems to ensure accurate postings.
*Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and internal values, fostering a collaborative and compliant team environment.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and helpful approach to internal and external queries.
*Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with financial software.
*Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial documentation.
*Actively working towards professional accounting qualifications such as AAT or similar.
*A team-oriented mindset with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
*Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
