Job Description:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading providers of behavioural care and specialist support services, for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join the established team within an independent mental health hospital in Preston.
The hospital is a 38-bedded independent mental health hospital and sits within close proximity to the M6 and M55, making for excellent transport links for staff.
The hospital specialises in the management and treatment of patients experiencing an acute mental health crisis with two dedicated acute wards as well as a specialised unit to support patients with a diagnosis of an eating disorder. Services work in partnership with the NHS to provide the best quality outcomes for all patients. It has an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care together with an extensive range of services delivered across the three units.
An extensive clinical and nursing team work alongside therapy disciplines of Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics and Activity Coordinators throughout the hospital. Patients can access ward specific therapeutic programmes aimed at enhancing skills, self-care, coping strategies etc to support their admission and discharge into the community.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Nurse on our clients eating disorder ward.
The role involves:
Leading the delivery of a comprehensive service user nursing assessment.
Planning, implementation and evaluation of person centred care in a collaborative way of both their physical and mental healthcare needs
Maintaining the service user’s rights; supervising junior staff and students
Working collaboratively with the MDT
Maintaining a safe and therapeutic working environment and accurate records.
Excellent role modelling to clinical colleagues
An ability to work to a high standard on your own initiative as well as part of a team, maintaining all Priory values including striving for excellence.
To be successful as Senior Nurse, you’ll need:
Qualified Registered Mental Health / Learning Disability Nurse with 6-12 months post registration.
Evidence of continued professional development in relevant field.
Experience with active NMC Registration and completed preceptorship or equivalent programme.
Knowledge of NMC standards guidelines, requests and professional practices.
Demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality.
High levels of communication skills within the patient group and clinical team
This is a part time permanent post and offers a competitive salary of £39,392- £41, 953 pro rata plus
