Your new company
A Social Housing Provider based in the East Midlands are seeking to appoint a Repairs Supervisor to join their team. The position is 38 hours p/week and paying £35,478.00 and could rise to £39,420.00 with good performance. The role is primarily to coordinate and lead a team of Multi Trade Operatives or contractors, delivering high quality maintenance with commercial awareness, across multiple sites responding to customer needs, the organisation’s priorities and group objectives.
Your new role
CustomersSupervise the carrying out of maintenance activities, delivered by internal teams or contractors.
*Drawing up specifications, repairs orders and contract documents for reactive works. Manage internal and external contractor performance to deliver those works on time, on budget and to the required standard. Effective contract administration to include instructions, valuations, certificates, accounts and documentation.
*Getting involved with tenant and leaseholder customers to improve the service, including participating in resident forums and scrutiny activity.
*Upholding the vision and values of the HA.
Commercial focused delivery model - value for money
*Manage resources effectively ensuring tools and equipment are maintained by staff and that material, plant and tool requests are agreed within budget.
*Take ownership of the supply chain for planned maintenance inclusive of materials, plant and machinery.
*Monitor and review teams and individual performance, addressing identified underperformance in accordance with the relevant Policy’s and Procedures and contract agreements.
*Ownership of specific project or contract budgets and ensuring tight control over those budgets.
*Make recommendations on how to improve efficiency and value for money.
Leadership responsibilities - colleagues
*Motivate, inspire and coach the team by leading and driving a trust-based culture of engagement, with clear performance-based outcomes.
*Promote a psychologically safe culture, with an inclusive and positive colleague experience.
*Act as an ambassador for the HA internally and externally promoting the organisation as a partner, employer and service provider of choice.
*Lead the people management processes throughout the employee lifecycle.
*Promote positive consultation with collective representatives to ensure employee relations underpin service provision.
What you’ll need to succeed HNC or certified Trade qualification.
CIOB or SMSTS is desirable but not essential.
Experience of working on diverse range of responsive maintenance systems.
Experience of working with tenants and tenant groups.
Ability to travel / full current driving licence.
Extensive experience working within the maintenance sector and supervising a selection of operatives.
