Job Description:
A dynamic education trust in Salisbury is looking for a driven People Services Manager to become part of their team.
Location: Salisbury
Work Arrangement: 2 days remote, 3 days in office
Salary: £38,500 - £42,500 per year
Full-time: 37 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
As a People Services Manager, you will be an integral part of the team, collaborating closely with the Head of People Services and the People Services Team. You will take overall responsibility for the People Services Function, advising, coaching, and influencing Headteachers, Heads of Service, and other leaders within the Trust to ensure a consistent application of the Trust’s policies and people management practices.
Line Management Duties:
• Directly manage at least one People Services Advisor responsible for specific Education Provisions/Services.
• Ensure that all team appraisals are conducted accurately and on time while identifying any training needs within the team.
• Effectively advise on and implement People policies, working with People Services Advisors to ensure these are integrated into their EPs.
Communication, Responsibilities & Working Relationships:
• Act as the primary point of escalation for People Services Advisors and assist them in:
o Delivering consistent advice on sensitive issues and complex cases.
o Supporting managers in preparing case information for disciplinary, grievance, capability, and attendance hearings.
o Processing contract amendments in line with required statutory and organisational timelines.
To excel in this role, you will need:
• Experience in leading and developing a team.
• A full driving license and access to your own transport.
• CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent experience or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
• A proven track record of Generalist HR experience across areas such as employee relations, employee engagement, change management, codes of practice, legislation, and project management.
• Experience in coaching and supporting managers throughout the HR discipline.
