Finance Officer Opportunity - Secondary School in North London
Location: Haringey
Contract: Long-Term Maternity Cover (Until July 2025, with potential extension)
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (pro rata, dependent on experience)
Hours: 8:15 AM - 4:00 PM

We are looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join a well-regarded secondary school in North London.

The Role As a Finance Officer, you will play a key role in managing the school’s financial operations, working closely with the Finance Manager. This includes handling daily finance tasks, ensuring compliance, and contributing to effective financial management.
Please Note:Experience in a similar finance role within a secondary school is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities *Manage daily financial processes such as payments, cashflow, and reconciliations.
*Provide financial advice and ensure controls are in place across departments.
*Assist with developing and updating financial policies.
*Identify opportunities to increase income and reduce costs.
*Oversee payroll processes to ensure timely payments.
*Support the preparation of budgets, management accounts, and reports.
*Coordinate audits and statutory financial returns.
*Ensure compliance with data protection policies and support access requests.
Person Specification *Proven experience in a school finance role, particularly in a secondary setting.
*Strong communication skills to present financial data to non-finance staff.
*Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities.
*Knowledge of educational finance systems and reporting requirements.
*Leadership skills to guide and support finance team members.
