Job Description:
This international law firm has a history going back to the 1930s. It is now a leading and award-winning firm with a client base encompassing some of the best names in retail, banking, real estate, sports and utilities.
The firm is based in the city, ideally placed for commuters. They offer a generous benefits package that includes a flexible element with an option of choice.
They are now looking to hire a Pricing Analyst on a permanent basis. This role will support the managers on the pricing and practice economics teams with structuring, analysing negotiating and tracking client fee arrangements. In addition, the analyst will assist with matter management, various billing rate processes, general Firm financial analysis and other initiatives to enhance the strategic pricing goals of the Firm.
Responsibilities
*Providing support to the business in preparing the assessment of pricing options for individual matters and clients, and support to the practice economics managers in the preparation of proposals in response to client need and commercial financial decision support.
*Provide support in developing rate proposals, alternative fee arrangements, fee estimates, matter budgets and pricing options in response to client requests.
*Assist in responding to the pricing and financial components of requests for proposals (RFPs) and other business development pitches.
*Provide support for the annual billing rate setting process and perform ongoing benchmarking analysis and maintenance of standard hourly billing rates throughout the year.
*Assist with various projects, including analysis of historical matters, to support the pricing and budgeting process.
*Provide analysis and regular reporting to support client and matter management needs.
*Assist in the identification, documentation and monitoring of alternative fee arrangements.
*Develop/enhance financial templates and models to expand upon and streamline existing processes surrounding the Firm’s pricing function.
*Support and develop analysis which identifies trends, themes and issues in the profitability of client activities and the on-going development. Support via financial analysis the interpretation of results from the financial dashboard to protect and improve results achieved across the business.
*Supporting the practice economics managers in the provision of financial information and advisory support needed while optimising service delivery models used for more routine legal advisory work and how these could be resourced in a more efficient and profitable way.
*Assisting the Director, the role will be responsible for sharing pricing and commercial analysis tools, techniques and approaches with other members of the wider F&A function to assist in their on-going technical and professional development.
Candidate Profile
*Minimum 3-5 years financial analysis experience preferred
*Legal/professional services experience a plus
*Pricing and Commercial Analysis experience strongly desirable
*Experience working in cross functional teams such as IT, HR, BD and LPM
*Professional qualifications a plus (CIMA, MBA, etc.)
*Ability to utilise Excel and MI systems to an advanced level.
*In depth working knowledge of best practices to be followed when analysing high volumes of complex data, producing management information, pricing opportunities and conducting investment appraisal on strategic initiatives.
