Job Description:
Residential Learning Support
Salary: £20,000 - £24,000 (depending on qualifications)
Location: Rural Horsham, West Sussex
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent - can start on temporary/supply basis
Working Hours: 42 hours per week
Start date: asap
Join our all-through special school for boys aged 5-18 years old, set in the beautiful West Sussex countryside. We are committed to the safety, physical and emotional wellbeing of our pupils, creating a happy environment that supports individual needs and fosters a strong sense of community.
Working Schedule:
Monday: 15:00 - 22:00
Tuesday to Thursday: 07:30 - 09:30, 15:00 - 22:00
Friday: 07:30 - 09:30, 14:00 - 16:00

Your New Role:
Assist with nutritional and feeding requirements of students
Support students in achieving their educational and personal goals
Help with after-school clubs, extracurricular activities, and homework
Work with children who have complex emotional needs, recognising and de-escalating situations to prevent disruption
Maintain positive relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary
Demonstrate a genuine care for helping students thrive and create a positive, inclusive environment for students with special needs
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or complex emotional needs
Ability to recognise and de-escalate challenging situations
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to exercise authority and make decisive actions
A genuine passion for supporting and empowering students to reach their full potential
A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
