We are now recruiting for a Strategic Business Development Manager for our client based in the heart of London, with modern and welcoming offices with all the facilities to promote productivity and collaboration. Joining an exciting workplace in Central London in the fast-growing e-commerce industry.
The role of Business Development Manager will be to drive growth initiatives, identify new business opportunities, and develop strategic partnerships that support the company’s long-term objectives. This role will be instrumental in shaping and executing our business development strategies, with a focus on market expansion, partnership building, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, has a strategic mindset, and excels at building and nurturing high-impact relationships.
Main role and responsibilities
* Conduct market analysis to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs, using insights to inform strategic decisions.
* Identify, evaluate, and prioritise potential business opportunities, partnerships, and new markets that align with our growth goals.
* Develop and implement strategic plans to enter new markets, expand product reach, and increase our share of current markets.
* Work closely with product, marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment on strategic objectives and support cross functional growth initiatives.
* Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry contacts, clients, and strategic partners to unlock business potential and create value.
* Prepare financial models and business cases to support proposed ventures, projects, or partnerships, providing ROI analysis and forecasts.
* Lead negotiations, structure deals, and develop contract terms with prospective partners to secure win-win outcomes.
* Establish and track KPIs for business development activities, providing regular updates to Senior Management on progress and outcomes.
* Generate reports and presentations for Senior Management, summarising market insights, strategic recommendations, and business development results.
Experience and Skills required for the role:
* Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in strategic business development, corporate strategy, or management consulting.
* Logistics / Courier / Freight or related industry experience
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in conducting market research, financial analysis, and developing business cases.
* Strategic Mindset, demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify long-term opportunities, and create plans to capitalise on market shifts.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
* Proven ability to negotiate and close complex deals or partnerships, with a track record of achieving high-value outcomes.
* Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, work effectively in a fast paced environment, and handle ambiguity
* CRM & Data Analytic
* Strong financial modelling skills and understanding of key financial metrics.
* Experience working in international markets or with global clients.
Salary and Benefits
My client offers a competitive total salary package - £55,000 to £60,000 circa
With a potential bonus of 15%, and an additional 15% stretch based on KPI’s set around revenue generated for existing customers and growth.
Offering a flexible working policy, 2 days per week, these can be agreed with the Manager. The other 3 days can be from home, this can be slightly more flexible for this role as you will be out visiting Customers, although they do prefer to say its 2 days per week.
