Job Description:

We are seeking a caring individual who has a genuine passion for early childhood education and possesses the skills to foster a nurturing learning environment for our youngest pupils.
Applicants should have at least NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or an equivalent qualification, however applicants with proven, relevant experience will also be considered. You must also have experience of theory and practice of effective teaching and learning in Primary and be able to manage groups of children.
We would like you to:
*Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum within the classroom and outdoor learning spaces.
*Assist in planning and preparing engaging learning activities tailored to early years pupils.
*Provide a safe and supportive environment for children to explore and learn.
*Help to assess children’s progress and report back to teachers and parents.
*Encourage children’s social and emotional development through play and interaction.
*Work closely with the class teacher to ensure that the needs of all children are met effectively.

You will be working under the instruction/guidance of teaching or other senior staff and within the overall ethos of the school, undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils, including more specialised support for those with special education needs, enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or in other teaching areas. Part of the role will include lunch time duty.
Please note this post will initially be for a fixed term from January 2025 due the school’s current needs and will be reviewed at a later date. There may be the opportunity to secure a permanent contract but this is not guaranteed.
Due to the rural location of the school, the incoming teaching assistant must have access to their own transport.
