Your new company
My client, an established firm, is seeking a skilled professional to oversee the client onboarding process and manage Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance. This role involves taking full responsibility for the end-to-end processes of client and matter opening, as well as contributing to enhancements of the client and matter inception process.
Your new role
*Manage the overall client onboarding process, including liaising with multiple stakeholders such as Finance, Business Support Services, and legal teams.
*Stay updated with regulatory changes and ensure that systems and processes remain compliant.
*Lead efforts in improving efficiencies, reducing administrative burdens, and maintaining high data quality standards.
*Oversee the central due diligence team responsible for AML client due diligence and ongoing monitoring.
*Update the firm’s AML risk assessment and support the preparation of annual reports for the Board.
*Provide guidance and training on AML matters to fee earners and relevant teams.
*Work with internal auditors to assess and enhance AML compliance across the firm.
What you’ll need to succeed
*In-depth knowledge of the UK Anti-Money Laundering and sanctions regime, with experience in handling complex client structures.
*Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to engage with senior management effectively.
*Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
*Leadership experience with a focus on supervision and team support.
*Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping practices.
*Experience in client/matter onboarding functions within regulated environments, particularly in the legal sector, is highly desirable.
