Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Grain, Near Rochester
Salary: Competitive rates starting from £40,000.00 upwards (depending on experience)
Company Overview Are clients are a leading supplier of reinforcing steel products, committed to delivering high-quality materials to the construction industry. Based in Grain, near Rochester, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.
Role Overview As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment in their manufacturing plant. You will also play a key role in implementing preventative maintenance procedures to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: *Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production machinery, including reinforcing steel manufacturing equipment.
*Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate necessary repairs in a timely manner.
*Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment runs at optimal performance levels.
*Monitor and adjust equipment to meet operational requirements and safety standards.
*Liaise with production teams to minimise downtime and ensure smooth workflow.
*Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.
*Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
*Propose improvements to machinery and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Key Requirements: *Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably within the steel or manufacturing industry.
*Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
*Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
*Experience in conducting preventative maintenance and troubleshooting machinery.
*Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
*Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be advantageous.
