Job Description:
To supervise all aspects of the warehouse ensuring the safe loading and unloading of vehicles as well as the safe movement of internal stock between the production unit and the warehouse. To liaise with other department managers in Production, Purchasing and Sales departments, providing excellent communication between the areas. To conform with all required health and safety rules and ensure your team work in a responsible manner; to keep the warehouse clean and tidy and be responsible for your team work space.
Key Responsibilities
*Supervise a small team.
*Participating and running daily morning meetings with other departments.
*Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods.
*Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee’s performance.
*Organise and maintain inventory and storage area.
*Supervise Forklift work and HGV driving ensuring staff are trained up to the highest standards and are adhering to strict Health and safety standards.
*Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status.
*Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.
Knowledge
*Some knowledge or understanding of LEAN and or 5S principles.
*Ability to work a 2-shift system 6.00-14.00 and 14.00- 22.00.
*Proven work experience as a Warehouse Supervisor
*Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency
*Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data.
*Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.
*Excellent communication and people skills
*Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations.
*Strong organisational and time management
