Job Advert: Healthcare Assistant - Supported Living Environment (Scottish Borders)
Are you an experienced and compassionate Support Worker looking to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life? We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team, providing high-quality care and support for an individual with complex needs in a supported living environment.
About the Role:
You will be supporting an individual with:
*Learning difficulties.
*Partial deafness and complete blindness.
*Epilepsy management.
*PEG feeding.
*Recovery following two recent strokes.
The individual will soon be discharged from the hospital and requires 2:1 support to ensure safety, comfort, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide tailored, person-centred care, focusing on the individual’s unique needs.
*Support with PEG feeding, mobility, and other health-related tasks.
*Monitor and respond appropriately to epilepsy and other medical conditions.
*Assist in daily living activities and encourage independence wherever possible.
*Work collaboratively with other team members across a range of shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and waken nights.
*Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging living environment.
What We’re Looking For:
*Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties and complex health needs.
*Practical knowledge of epilepsy care, PEG feeding, and sensory impairments.
*Experience working with individuals recovering from strokes is desirable.
*A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.
*Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and nights.
*Strong teamwork and communication skills.
