Job Description:
Buyer and Planner - Are you an experienced Buyer who enjoys developing relationships with suppliers?
We are looking for a Buyer and Planner for our client who is a leading distributor of chemicals.
GENERAL DETAILS:
*Full-time / Permanent
*Mon-Fri / 35 hours per week
*Leeds City Centre office
*Flexible working hours with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office

THE ROLE:
Working as a key member of the UK Purchasing department, as a Buyer and Planner, you will build relationships with suppliers and source materials for customers.
*Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers both in person and over the phone.
*Negotiating with assigned suppliers to ensure the best price and best payment terms are achieved for all orders.
*Managing stock levels of meet both company objectives and customer expectations.
*Proactively manage slow moving stock and quarantine material.
*Attending meetings with the sales team to promote materials and give market information for them to provide to customers.
*Ordering products as required from approved suppliers.
*Sourcing new products and bringing on new suppliers.
*Providing accurate pricing to UK and Export Sales Teams
WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?
Someone who has:
*Excellent communication skills.
*Ability to work under pressure.
*Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
*Good organisational abilities and able to work both on your own and as part of a team.
*Buying experience with a distribution environment.
Bonus to have:
*CIPS Qualification.
*Chemistry / Science based degree.
