Job Description:
Electrical Shift Engineer required on a permanent basis
Location: Llanwern, Newport
Salary: £39,280 including shift allowance
What you’ll do:
As an Electrical Shift Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising our client’s manufacturing systems. Your job will involve fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and ensuring that our operations remain seamless.
*Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults to keep our manufacturing processes moving
*Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and safety checks, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
*Collaborate with our engineering and manufacturing teams to improve system performance and recommend upgrades
*Keep your skills sharp with ongoing training and stay up to date with the latest technologies
*Supervise contractor personnel, maintaining safety and quality standards
*Work with modern electrical systems including PLCs, Drives, and AC & DC motor circuitry-interpreting wiring and schematic diagrams to ensure precision work
What you’ll need:
*Ideally, you’ll have an ONC qualification or equivalent, typically gained through an apprenticeship in electrical engineering or a Modern Apprenticeship certificate.
*Previous experience working with electrical systems in a manufacturing environment is a must.
*You’ll also need strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage tasks independently and under pressure.
