JOB – Design Engineer
LOCATION – East Sussex
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – £27,000 – £35,000 per annum

My client work within design and manufacturing and they are looking to take on a Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the East Sussex area.  

The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Design or similar
• Ideally 1-2 years’ experience or more in the industry or placement experience may also be considered working in a similar Design Engineer position
• Proficiency with CAD software - ideally SolidWorks but are open to others
• Any experience using rendering software like Keyshot would be advantageous but not essential
• Have good technical/ engineering knowledge and experience
• Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
• Have excellent communication skills
• Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and furniture/ timber design would be beneficial
• Time management skills  

The Design Engineer role will involve:

• Working within the engineering and product development teams on projects
• Modelling parts using SolidWorks CAD software and using Keyshot
• Developing new concepts • Taking these concepts to finished products
• Producing design proposals and engineered solutions to match the brief
• Ensure all drawings contain the relevant manufacturing data (BOM’s)
