A well-established Further Education and Apprenticeship provider, rated "Good" by Ofsted, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Head of Department to join their Electrical Installations faculty. This institution is renowned for its modern facilities, exceptional teaching standards, and strong industry links, offering a vibrant and supportive environment for students and staff alike.

The Role
As the Assistant Head of Department, you will play a pivotal role in managing the delivery of Electrical Installation programmes. Working closely with the Head of Department, your responsibilities will include:
• Curriculum Management: Overseeing study programmes, apprenticeships, and adult learning courses, ensuring they meet industry standards and student needs.
• Staff Leadership: Supporting and leading a team of lecturers, instructors, and technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
• Quality Assurance: Driving continuous improvement by monitoring progress, tracking outcomes, and implementing strategies to enhance teaching and learning standards.
• Timetabling & Resources: Managing timetables, staff rotas, and resources to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of courses.
• Student Experience: Promoting high attendance, punctuality, and positive behaviour, ensuring students receive an outstanding educational experience.
• Industry Engagement: Building strong relationships with industry partners to ensure the curriculum is current and provides work experience opportunities.
• Health & Safety: Maintaining robust health and safety standards, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance across all activities.

What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• Level 5 or above teaching qualification (DET, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or PGCE) and a Level 3 NVQ in Construction or a related field.
• Significant teaching and curriculum management experience in the further education or training sector.
• A strong track record of motivating teams and managing performance.
• Familiarity with awarding body requirements and current health and safety practices.
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusivity, and equality.
• Experience working across multiple campuses and engaging with diverse student cohorts.
