Job Description:
Brewer Morris are delighted to be supporting this growing client within the financial services space in hiring a new Head of Indirect Tax. This position has full responsibility for the small indirect tax team from oversight of the compliance and reporting processes, to leading on all advisory, project and strategic requirements from an indirect tax perspective. You will have responsibility for multiple jurisdictions, including the UK and EMEA.
Responsibilities
*Oversee all VAT reporting for the UK, EMEA and UAE.
*Review, maintain and update indirect tax policies and procedures.
*Provide indirect tax guidance to the business, key internal stakeholders and manage queries from external stakeholders including auditors and authorities.
*Particularly focus on new product offerings, business initiatives, Service Level Agreements, and Cost Contribution Agreement reviews, along with addressing ad-hoc queries.
*Monitor changes in VAT legislation and case law, advising relevant departments on potential impacts.
*Collaborate with the IT department to ensure VAT system requirements are met.
*Update and maintain Partial Exemption Methods.
*Serve as the main contact point for VAT matters with tax authorities.
*Handle VAT-related queries from tax authorities, internal auditors, and external auditors.
*Oversee operational tax policies and processes.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
*Accounting or Tax qualifications
*Strong technical expertise in VAT and indirect taxes, particularly in the financial services sector.
*Experience with PESMs
*Previous management experience is preferred
