Job Description:
Zenith People are working with our client who are based in Tyne & Wear and are looking to recruit a Project Engineer with a Mechanical bias on a permanent basis.
You will be required to support reactive and planned maintenance across a Manufacturing site and in addition will be responsible for the mechanical side of the repair and maintenance of equipment on site providing first line support for breakdowns, carrying out fault finding and repairs. Main duties:-
*Supervise sub-contractors to ensure that they meet agreed contractual and safety requirements.
*Work in Manufacturing to increase productivity, increase profitability, ensure effective asset utilisation and make safety and environmental improvements.
*Support the organisation in identifying projects, financed either by capital expenditure (CAPEX) or operational expenditure (OPEX), and the writing of technical specifications as required.
*Responsible for dealing quickly and effectively with mechanical problems and breakdowns across the plant.
*To undertake preventative maintenance and safety checks on a regular basis, including undertaking risk assessments.
*Provide root cause analysis insight and identify permanent corrective actions in response to plant downtime and reliability issues as required.
*The implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a preventative maintenance and capital expenditure plan to be agreed with the Engineering and Maintenance Manager.
Essential Skills and Experience
*Engineering qualification. (Minimum HNC or equivalent).
*Ability to use own initiative to fault find manufacturing equipment faults.
*Ability to work on own initiative.
*Ability to produce clear, concise technical reports.
*Ability to establish good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
*Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt language as appropriate to the situation be open and non-defensive.
*Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.
*Possess the ability to implement and manage change in the business.
*Ability to manage multi-disciplinary (including electrical, civil and mechanical) projects to ensure achievement of goals on time and within budget.
