Job Description:
Senior Photonics Design Engineer - South West England
Global technology company seeks a Senior Photonics Design Engineer to lead development of innovative fiber-optic products for industrial, aerospace & defense, and bio-photonics applications.
This is a hybrid role but fully remote UK based candidates will be seriously considered.
Key Responsibilities:
*Design cutting-edge optical/photonic components and systems
*Lead team development and performance management
*Drive product development strategy
*Collaborate on prototype builds and testing
*Present to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
*Degree in Engineering or Physics (PhD preferred)
*Extensive knowledge of fiber-optics and photonics
*Experience with optical design tools (e.g., Zemax)
*Strong problem-solving and communication skills
*Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines
*Experience in satellite communications, industrial sensing, or biomedical imaging preferred
