If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Learning Support Assistant at a secondary school, specializing in SEMH education.

They aim to empower young people by equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Despite the challenges, we focus on creating an environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities: *Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both in and outside of the classroom, ensuring that individual learning needs are met.
*Assist in the development and delivery of personalized learning plans and interventions, working closely with teachers and SENCO.
*Support students with challenging behavior, de-escalating situations when necessary and providing positive reinforcement.
*Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where students feel secure and encouraged to reach their potential.
*Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the student’s development.
*Help students develop essential life skills, self-regulation strategies, and social skills.
*Build strong, positive relationships with students, encouraging their emotional well-being and confidence.
The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who is adaptable, patient, and has a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH. The ideal candidate will possess:
*Experience working with children or young people with SEMH.
*A compassionate and calm approach, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour positively and effectively.
*Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, staff, and external professionals.
*The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, often unpredictable environment.
*A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
*A proactive attitude with the ability to use initiative in a variety of situations.
