Job Description:
Are you an experienced Electrician looking to join a dynamic team? Our client, a leader in the engineering industry, is seeking a Manufacturing Plant Shift Electrician to provide breakdown support across all production lines and service functions. Responsibilities:
Effectively troubleshoot and repair production machinery, including PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives, HMIs, and other automated industrial control systems.
Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Generate ideas for continuous improvement, driving down costs, minimising line downtime, and increasing efficiencies.
Perform machine modifications, both panel/machine-based and PLC software programming.
Maintain accurate records of all electrical modifications, including AutoCAD drawings and programme documentation.
Assist in training apprentices and provide electrical expertise to support mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problem-solving.
Ensure completion and storage of all necessary paperwork and logbooks according to operating requirements.
Conduct machinery inspections, reporting any major faults or identified failures.
Comply with health and safety policies, promoting a safe working environment.
Requirements:
Time Served Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
PLC experience is advantageous.
Familiarity with Variable Speed AC Drives is advantageous.
Experience in electrical installation activities is advantageous.
Substantial experience within a high-speed manufacturing environment.
