Are you an experienced Bid Manager with a background in professional services or the legal sector? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment, expertly managing tender processes from start to finish? My client a commercial law firm are seeking an experienced Bids Manager to join their tight knit/ ambitious team.
About the Role
As Bid Manager, you will play a critical role in sourcing and managing bids, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with the firm’s strategy. Reporting to the Marketing & Business Development team, you will work closely with partners, lawyers, and business support teams to create compelling, high-quality submissions that drive success.
Duties will include the following:
*Source, identify, and circulate potential opportunities for relevant practice areas.
*Lead tenders from initial opportunity through to drafting, submission, post-submission feedback, and reporting, ensuring all timescales and deliverables are met.
*Collate non-technical responses using existing collateral and draft responses where possible.
*Manage input from practice area experts across the firm, including partners, Knowledge Development Lawyers, and business support teams.
*Coordinate contract reviews and other compliance checks.
*Ensure all submissions are of the highest quality and fully address client requirements.
*Analysis individual evaluation criteria for tenders and advise stakeholders, especially concerning pricing strategies.
*Design compelling presentations and prepare key staff for interviews and clarification meetings.
*Produce tender analysis and report on themes from client feedback.
*Effectively hand over clients post-agreement to the wider Client and Business Development team.
To excel in this role, you should have at least 5+ years of experience managing the tender and bids process, ideally within a professional or legal services environment, coupled with a strong understanding of public sector tendering and portals. You will possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders on approach, strategy, and responses. A high level of attention to detail, exceptional time management, and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities under pressure are essential. Line Management experience would also be desirable, helping to grow, nurture and manager more junior members of the team.
