Job Description:
Child Carer *Hourly Rate: £12
*Location: SE14
*Job Type: Part-time (Weekends, 5 hours per day Saturday/ Sunday)
We are seeking a dedicated Child Carer for a sociable 7-year-old boy. The role involves ensuring safety and well-being during weekend outings, particularly focusing on his medical needs and personal care. This position requires a compassionate individual who can provide attentive supervision and engage positively.
Day-to-day of the role: *Ensure safety at all times, especially when out in the community. This includes holding his hand while walking and protecting his head from potential bumps.
*Be vigilant of signs and symptoms related to shunt complications such as headaches, nausea, excessive tiredness, and vision problems. Immediate action may be required depending on the severity of symptoms.
*Use a wheelchair as and when needed and ensure he does not come into harm when walking or interacting in various environments.
*Engage in a manner that supports his social interactions and communication, as he is very sociable and enjoys talking.
*Assist with personal care and getting dressed to maintain his hygiene and appearance while out.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Experience in caring for children
*Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response.
*Ability to recognise symptoms of medical distress and act swiftly.
*Strong communication skills and a patient, nurturing disposition.
*Commitment to ensuring a child’s safety and well-being at all times.
