Job Description:
Deputy Manager required for a Dementia Care Home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join a dedicated team at a local Good rated care home. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated care leader to support the Registered Manager in providing outstanding care for residents while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
This care home is committed to delivering person-centred support, fostering a warm and inclusive environment where residents with dementia can live well.
Salary:
*c£36,000pa DOE
*Opportunities for ongoing training and career development.
*A supportive working environment with a focus on excellence in dementia care.
Key Responsibilities:
*Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the home’s operations, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations.
*Lead, mentor, and support a team of care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred dementia care.
*Monitor and manage care plans to ensure residents’ individual needs and preferences are met.
*Foster strong relationships with residents’ families and external professionals.
*Support recruitment, training, and development of staff to build a skilled and compassionate team.
*Promote the home within the local community to maintain and grow occupancy levels.
*Deputise for and step into the Registered Manager’s role when required.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
*Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a dementia or elderly care setting.
*A relevant qualification such as Level 3 or 5 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it).
*A compassionate approach to delivering dementia care, with a strong understanding of person-centred practices.
*Knowledge of CQC regulations and experience in achieving compliance standards.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*A proactive and supportive leadership style to inspire and motivate your team.
