Job Description:
CRIMINAL SOLICITOR (PRIVATE CRIME), 5+ YEARS PQE, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) – You will be joining a team that undertakes a varied range of privately funded general crime and road traffic matters. JOB REF: 215297988

THE ROLE:
You will have a varied caseload which will include:
• Advising and representing clients in criminal matters, including providing legal representation at police stations and court proceedings.
• Drafting legal documents, including correspondence, proofs, witness statements and pleadings.
• Conducting case preparation, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service.
• Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals within the criminal justice system.
• Undertaking advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, including exceptional hardship applications and trials.
• Providing comprehensive legal advice to clients.
• Representing clients in general crime and road traffic matters.
THE CANDIDATE:
• You will have a good grounding in all aspects of criminal law and be passionate about building a private criminal practice.
• You will have experience of working with private clients and generating work outside of duty solicitor rotas/schemes.
• You will manage your own caseload, assist with business development and support junior members of the team.
• Regulatory experience is desirable as is own client following.
