About the job
Salary: £13.26 - £13.47 per hour
Enhancements:Weekend working - Time & a half, Bank Holidays - Double time & Night enhancement (8pm - 10pm shifts)
Working Pattern: Part time position - Wednesday night - 10 hour shift per week
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Stanhope Lodge, Worthing

About Stanhope Lodge
Stanhope Lodge supports a wide range of people with both long-stay and short-break accommodation. We provide individualised care and support with an emphasis on promoting independence and choice to help people to enjoy their lives and maintain existing, or develop new, skills, interests, opportunities, and friendships.
The staff team are keen to promote and develop community links and to enable people to be a part of the community they live in. Some people also attend day opportunity services in the local area where they can enjoy chosen activities and connect with their friends. The home welcomes visits and involvement from families and friends of those living and staying there.

Key Skills: (These will be used as the shortlisting criteria)
*Ability to build relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds, and ensure their views are heard and their needs are met.
*Good organisational/ prioritising skills, can co-ordinate a variety of tasks and work as part of a team.
*Adapts communication to the needs of the individual - e.g. those less able to express themselves and understand non-verbal communication.
*Recognises the purpose for behaviours that others may find challenging, and be able to respond appropriate and in line with the Positive Behaviour Support guidance.
*Able to interpret written material and create clear written reports.
*Assessing and recognising situations that need to be escalated to seniors/line managers.
Qualifications and/ experience:
*Minimum of 4 GCSE’s including English Language and Maths, or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable equivalent comparable experience.
*QCF Level 2 or Diploma in care or equivalent qualification is Desirable. However, if qualification is not held, there will be an expectation to undertake the Diploma within 6 months of commencing the role
*Previous experience or knowledge / skills of supporting people with personal care duties e.g. washing, changing people with learning disabilities.
*Basic Health and Safety knowledge
*Understanding of safe moving and handling of people - Desirable
*Demonstrable experience of working with people with a learning disability, dementia, physical disabilities and / or autism, depending on setting - Desirable
