Job Advertisement: Private Chef - Kensington
We are seeking a talented and experienced Private Chef to join a high-level household in Kensington. This is a full-time position, working Tuesday to Saturday, with Sundays and Mondays off. The role requires a passion for creating healthy, seasonal, and fresh meals, as well as the ability to cater to a dynamic family environment with a high standard of excellence at all times.
Start date: The role is to start early 2025, with initial preliminary interviews now
Key Details
*Schedule:
*Breakfast:
*Children: 7:15-7:45 AM (light prep for this can be done the night before).
*Principals: 9:00 AM (weekend breakfasts at 9:00 AM for the whole family).
*Dinner: 6:00-7:00 PM. Chef to clear up after.
*Occasional light lunches/snacks required if family are at home.
*Breaks: You’ll have downtime during the day for grocery shopping, planning, and personal breaks.
*Environment:
*2 adults + 4 children (school-aged and younger).
*Family usually eats together and enjoys a variety of cuisines.
*No dietary restrictions, but no pork, garlic, or onion. No processed sugar or honey.
*Creativity: Lots of freedom to showcase creativity while using fresh, seasonal ingredients to prepare healthy meals from scratch.
*Expectations:
*Exceptional standards in all aspects of cooking, presentation, and kitchen hygiene.
*Ability to plan a weekly menu in collaboration with the principals, allowing for amendments as needed.
*Experience catering to guests, including birthday parties or informal events, on a weekly basis.
Qualifications
*Proven Experience: Previous experience in private households is essential, with a background in high-end restaurants or luxury establishments.
*Flexibility: Occasional travel to the family’s other residences may be required. Travel isn’t expected if staying at a hotel.
*Team Player: Work collaboratively with a small team of housekeepers, nannies, security, and drivers.
