Job Description:
Our client, a prestigious university in London, is seeking to recruit a full-time (35 hours per week) temporary Programme Officer to provide support. This role operates Monday to Friday and offers hybrid working, typically requiring two days per week on-site. However, during busier times or for additional coverage, you may need to be on-site for up to three days.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
*Supporting the student lifecycle from pre-enrolment to graduation.
*Responding to student and academic inquiries (both face-to-face and via email) within agreed timeframes, escalating complex issues as needed.
*Assisting senior programme officers with student assessment processes.
*Processing student requests for assessment extensions and deferrals.
*Handling module and timetable change requests.
*Facilitating student module selection processes.
*Conducting student attendance and wellbeing checks.
*Managing systems and databases, such as student records systems and virtual learning environments (VLEs).
*Supporting module evaluation processes.
*Collaborating flexibly within the team, particularly during periods of high workload.
*Maintaining a thorough understanding of data protection requirements and ensuring compliance.
To be considered for this position, you should have prior experience in a similar role and meet the following criteria:
*Previous experience working in an academic department or university setting.
*Familiarity with the SITS database and confidence in using it.
*Hands-on experience with assessment processes (e.g., mark sheets, data entry, student records).
*Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft professional documents and correspondence.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
*A solid understanding of excellent customer service principles and the ability to deliver them effectively.
The role is expected to commence on Monday, 6th January, and looking to be until the end of May 2025. Candidates must be available immediately or at short notice to be considered.
