Job Description:
School Attendance Officer *Job Type: Full-time
*Location: To be confirmed
*Working Hours: 08:00 - 15:30 (with a 30 min unpaid lunch)
We are seeking a proactive School Attendance Officer to join our team. The role involves monitoring and managing student attendance, ensuring all records are up-to-date and compliant with our policies. Previous experience with Bromcom MIS is highly advantageous as it is integral to daily operations.
Day-to-day of the role: *Monitor and enter student attendance marks accurately and promptly.
*Contact parents or guardians regarding absent students to ascertain the reason for absence.
*Liaise with the Pastoral team and Education Welfare Officer (EWO) regarding persistent absentees to implement strategies and support.
*Process fines for unauthorised absences in line with school policy.
*Maintain accurate records of communications with parents and other stakeholders.
*Collaborate with other staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student welfare and attendance.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
*Previous experience with Bromcom MIS or similar management information systems.
*Strong organisational and communication skills.
*Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
*Proactive in dealing with issues and capable of working independently.
*Commitment to promoting the importance of regular school attendance.
