Goodman Masson are proud to be exclusively partnering with a digital transformation consultancy that does incredible work with government, healthcare, financial services and education institutions. We are search for an Interim Strategic People Director who will drive a transformative change programme and set the People function up for sustained growth and international success. This isn’t just a role; it’s a chance to lead from the front, build critical frameworks, and influence the future of an organisation poised for ambitious scaling.

What’s the challenge?
This organisation is scaling internationally, and the People function needs to catch up-and fast! You’ll have a blank canvas to:
*Build or revamp critical People initiatives (performance management, pay structures, career pathways).
*Develop a People strategy that aligns with global growth goals.
*Implement DEI recommendations from an external consultant (results arriving January).
*Lead on talent management and policy reviews, ensuring systems and frameworks are competitive, inclusive, and future-focused.

Who we’re looking for
The ideal candidate is:
*Strategic & resilient: Able to navigate ambiguity, develop strategy, and make bold decisions.
*A consulting/private sector veteran: Experience in consulting or private sector HR is essential
*Gravitas & credibility: You’ll work with senior stakeholders who will challenge you-your ability to justify, influence, and inspire will be key.
*Proven track record: In senior HR professional positions and delivering organisation wide related HR projects
Key areas of focus
*DEI Leadership: Embed inclusive practices into the organisation’s DNA.
*Performance Management: Design and embed frameworks that drive excellence.
*Talent Management: Develop processes that support the growth and acquisition excellent talent
*Pay & Progression: Develop fair, competitive, and transparent compensation structures.
*International Growth: Shape people strategies to support scaling into global markets.
*Cultural Leadership: Define and drive a people-first culture that connects with the organisation’s mission and values.
This is a 9-month contract, looking to start ASAP (January), paying up to £800 per day (outside of IR35). The working arrangement will be part-time (flexible 40%-60% working week) and will also require presence in the Central London 2 days a week.
This is a senior HR leadership role, reporting into the COO, and it’s all about making your mark. If you’re a trailblazer ready to lead a significant transformation and set the People function on a trajectory for success, we’d love to hear from you.
