Drama Teacher *Annual Salary: Competitive
*Location: Surrey
*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary
*Start Date: January 2025
We are seeking a passionate and creative Drama Teacher to join a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Surrey. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about teaching drama to students aged 4-6 weeks and is committed to fostering a love for the performing arts among young learners.
Day-to-day of the role: *Plan, prepare, and deliver inspiring drama lessons that engage and motivate young students.
*Develop students’ understanding of drama through various teaching methods including storytelling, role-playing, and performance.
*Assess and record students’ progress and provide feedback to help them improve their performance skills.
*Organise and direct school plays or performances, coordinating with other staff members for set design, costumes, and public performances.
*Collaborate with other teachers to integrate drama into a broader educational curriculum.
*Maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
*Attend staff meetings, parent consultations, and training workshops to ensure continuous personal and professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in Drama or Performing Arts.
*Experience teaching drama to young children, preferably in a secondary school setting.
*Strong understanding of the educational needs and curriculum for KS3 and KS4.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
*Creative and dynamic approach to teaching and learning.
*Ability to organise and manage time effectively to handle multiple responsibilities.
