Job Description:
Teqniq is searching for a EHC Plan Writer to work in the public sector.
37 hours per week.
3 months contract.

Job Description:
1. To prepare and amend Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans to ensure they remain up-to-date and reflect of a student’s current views, needs outcomes and provision. To administer the amendment process. To recommend and introduce service improvements.
2. To amend and update existing EHC Plans to ensure that they remain current and relevant to a student’s needs by carrying out effective amendments in a timely fashion.
3. To prepare EHC Plans and decisions not to issue an EHC Plan following statutory assessment within statutory timescales.
4. To prepare decisions not to assess within statutory timescales.
5. To work with SEN casework teams to ensure that statutory deadlines for EHC Plan amendments around key transition phases between education settings are met.
6. To identify the need for, and obtain, updated reports from education, health and social care professionals, families and partner agencies in order to carry out effective amendments that reflect a student’s current needs, outcomes and provision. To liaise with such professionals to the same end.
7. To contribute towards the collation and production of data/statistics in order to inform statutory returns and service planning.
8. To provide support and cover to the EHC Plan & Quality Assurance (QA) Officer and the assessment and review teams, as appropriate.
9. To contribute to the development of best practice and procedures relating to EHC Plan writing and amending.
10. To contribute to the development and implementation of the SEN Service’s objectives, as laid out in the SEN Service Plan.
11. To support the corporate life of the City Council and project a positive image of the organisation. Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners in Children and Adults to ensure that parents and young people receive an effective and responsive service.
12. To act responsibly in order to build mutual confidence and respect and foster effective working relationships with all.
