Job Description:
Timeplan Education is currently partnering with a prestigious SEND Trust in Camden, who are recruiting several specialist Teaching Assistants to start in September 2024. These full-time roles will initially be on timesheets via the agency, with the opportunity for permanent contracts for the right candidates.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday: 8:20am - 3:45pm
About the School:
The school is based across two modern sites in Camden, supporting 200 students aged 5-19 years old with EHCPs, primarily for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Asperger’s Syndrome. The school is dedicated to offering a well-rounded, engaging curriculum, while also prioritizing the development of students’ communication and social skills. Students benefit from a state-of-the-art learning environment, equipped with top-notch resources to support their growth and progress.
The Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work with small groups of 4-9 pupils, providing both 1:1 and group support. Classes are organized based on age but include students with varying abilities, some of whom may be non-verbal. You will play a key role in helping students achieve their full potential, whether through supporting their learning or assisting with personal care. You will also assist in developing communication skills, and experience with PECs and Makaton is desirable.
Key Requirements:
*Experience supporting children with Autism and complex needs (ideally in a professional setting, but personal experience will also be considered).
*Previous experience in a school or child-related environment is beneficial.
*Comfort with one-to-one and small group support.
*Ability to engage professionally and empathetically with children and colleagues.
*A caring, calm, and proactive approach to working with SEND students.
*Willingness to complete personal care tasks when necessary.
Why Join Us?
*Competitive pay rates and excellent professional development opportunities.
*The potential to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.
*A modern, well-resourced working environment.
*The chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with SEND.
If you’re passionate about supporting children with SEND and want to make a lasting impact, we want to hear from you!
