Job Description:
Job Title: AV Technician
Location: Swindon (with occasional travel to Northampton)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Management:
Report to client stakeholders daily, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
Oversee and manage AV/UC systems on a day-to-day basis, ensuring seamless operation.
Provide real-time in-room support for AV/UC-related issues.
Fault handling and ownership of all AV-related tickets through to resolution, ensuring incidents/tickets are logged and resolved within SLA.
Locate faults or problems and provide first/second-line solutions.
Work with off-site help desk and third parties as required to resolve incidents and manage RMAs.
Manage equipment repairs and implement critical spares as necessary.
System Maintenance and Updates:
Support and manage software/firmware updates as instructed via change control protocols.
Conduct regular room/systems checks (daily/monthly).
Oversee preventative maintenance activities in coordination with off-site teams.
Assist with ad hoc moves and changes as required.
Maintain accurate asset schedules and critical spares holdings for the location/UK.
End-User Support:
Provide technical assistance to users at all levels of seniority on audio-visual equipment, connectivity, and applications.
Proactively train and support end users as needed.
Offer a meet-and-greet service to assist VIP meetings and clients requiring in-room or virtual audio and video connectivity.
Generate daily reports and liaise with clients to confirm meeting requirements and equipment/room setups.
Event and Meeting Support:
Remain on standby to provide technical assistance for high-profile events.
Attend weekly service/ticket review meetings to report on incidents and updates.
Attend monthly service review meetings and prepare reports/statistics as required.
Operational Duties:
Be fully competent in digital AV environments and IT literate, with an understanding of network architecture and structured cable infrastructures.
Manage onsite support deliverables to meet client expectations.
Ensure a flexible full-time support schedule from Monday to Friday (07:00 - 19:00, shift/rota) with additional flexibility as required.
Additional Requirements:
Occasional travel to Northampton to oversee technical issues and maintenance activities.
Ability to provide system workarounds in the event of failures.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service in all interactions.
