Job Description:
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Salary: Up to £40,000 per year (37.5 hours per week)
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-respected client for a Deputy Manager to join their team in a 2-3 bedded children’s residential home, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD) and mild to moderate Learning Disabilities (LD).
Benefits Include:
*Achievable bonus of up to £5,000 (£3,500 for a ’Good’ Ofsted rating).

About the Role:
As the Deputy Manager, you will work alongside the Registered Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality care and support services for young people with complex needs. Key responsibilities include:
*Creating a warm, nurturing environment tailored to the needs of the young people.
*Ensuring the home operates in compliance with Ofsted standards, policies, and regulations.
*Developing and implementing care plans to meet the social, emotional, and educational needs of young people.
*Leading on strategies to manage challenging behaviors and promote safeguarding.
*Managing staff performance, providing supervision, and ensuring access to training and development.
*Overseeing budgets, staffing, and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the home.
About You:
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
*Essential qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) and NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent).
*Significant experience working in a residential setting with young people who display challenging behaviors.
*Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively, ensuring high standards of care.
*Strong knowledge of safeguarding and experience working with external agencies.
*A full driving licence and willingness to use your own vehicle when required.

*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
*A proactive, empathetic, and flexible approach.
*Ability to manage budgets and handle administrative responsibilities.
