Job Advert: Learning Mentor - Bournemouth (Full-Time, Starting January)

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join our vibrant and inclusive school community in Bournemouth. This full-time role, starting in January, offers the chance to work closely with students, helping them to build confidence, develop skills, and succeed academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities: *Support students in overcoming barriers to learning, both in and outside the classroom.
*Work one-on-one or in small groups to improve academic performance, behavior, and emotional well-being.
*Build strong, trusting relationships with students, providing guidance and mentorship tailored to their individual needs.
*Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive holistic support.
*Deliver targeted interventions and activities to promote self-esteem, resilience, and social skills.
*Monitor and evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting as required.
About You: We are looking for someone who is:
*Enthusiastic, approachable, and passionate about supporting young people.
*A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
*Able to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
*Patient, resilient, and adaptable, thriving in a dynamic school environment.
*Knowledgeable about safeguarding and committed to promoting the welfare of children.
Essential Requirements: *Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school setting.
*A good understanding of the challenges young people face in education and strategies to support them.
*Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
*Relevant qualifications in education, mentoring, or youth work are desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be required to complete Disclosure and Barring Service declarations in line with Section 115 of the Police Act 1997.
