Job Description:
Role: Interim Systems Accountant – 6-Month FTC
Salary: £85,000 - £90,000
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid - 2/3 days on-site per week)
Reporting to: Financial Controller
Overview:
We’re seeking an articulate and switched-on InterimSystems Accountant to support a critical project around accounting software implementation. This role is pivotal in streamlining processes, ensuring data accuracy, and transitioning the finance team seamlessly from legacy systems to the upgraded platform.
Background:
Over the past two years, the accounting system has undergone an upgrade, but the go-live phase encountered significant challenges, with 90% of data impacted due to third-party issues. The team is now dual-running systems, reconciling historic data, and transitioning fully to the new system.
Responsibilities:
*Project Support: Collaborate with the project board to evaluate processes, coordinate testing, and ensure smooth system transitions.
*Training & Documentation: Develop training plans, coordinate and deliver training sessions, and write comprehensive documentation for system processes and project reports.
*Process Optimisation: Analyse and streamline finance processes, ensuring efficiency and alignment with FinancialForce functionality.
*Data Reconciliation: Ensure historical data is accurately reconciled and migrated.
*Issue Resolution: Take ownership of resolving system and process issues swiftly and efficiently.
*Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior stakeholders, including the Financial Controller and the CFO, to meet high standards and project goals.
Required Skills and Experience:
*Solid understanding of finance processes, including PL, credit control, and coding structures.
*ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified
*Experience with accounting software implementations.
*Strong technical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot system and process issues.
*Proven ability to develop and deliver training materials and documentation.
*Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to varied audiences.
