Job Description:
My client is seeking a part time Compliance and Operations Manager to join their well-established law firm.
The ideal candidate will:
*Be responsible for data management, to include; creating and enforcing policies for effective data management - ensuring accuracy and legitimacy of data.
*Analyse data to provide insight and support decision-making processes within the firm.
*Develop and oversee data security measures to protect sensitive information, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and standards.
*Collaborate with IT to maintain and improve database systems and software applications.
*Have operational oversight, regularly reviewing operational processes to ensure efficient and effectiveness across departments.
*Monitor and analyse operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
*Work closely with departments to understand their data needs and operational challenges.
*Facilitate training for staff on data management and compliance practices.
*Serve as a point of contact for data and compliance related inquiries.
*Take ownership of Compliance and Risk Management
*Ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards related to data management and privacy.
*Identify and mitigate risks associated with data handling and operational processes.
*Take overall responsibility for the management of the firm’s complaints procedures including corresponding and dealing with clients, third parties and the Legal Ombudsman.
*Ensure compliance with Solicitors Regulations Authority (SRA) requirements
*Maintain the firm’s Lexcel accreditation ensuring the firm is compliant for its annual inspection.
*Be responsible for Money Laundering Compliance.
*Be fully up to date with statutes and regulation regarding Money Laundering requirements.
*Develop and enforce internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with AML regulations.
*Peform ad hoc Project Management to plan, execute, and oversee compliance and operational projects from inception to completion.
As a Operations and Compliance Manager, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
*Proven experience in a compliance, data management and operations role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
*Analytical thinker, with good communication skills and the ability to articulate reasoning clearly and succinctly using data to make informed decisions.
*Strong attention to detail and an ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discreet manner.
*Proficiency in data management software and tools (e.g., CRM systems, spreadsheets, database management systems).
*Ability to use own initiative - a pro-active self-manager who can manage their own workload, identify areas for improvement and drive projects forward.
*Possesses in-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including GDPR and AML.

*Knowledge of legal industry practices and regulations.
