Fire Door Engineer
Location: West London, Harrow, Middlesex
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum
Are you a skilled professional with a passion for fire safety compliance and hands-on engineering?
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Fire Door Engineer to join a leading facilities team in ensuring the safety and compliance of residential and commercial properties. If you have expertise in fire door inspection, maintenance, and repair, along with a strong understanding of industry regulations, we’d love to hear from you!
About the Role: As a Fire Door Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring fire doors across a portfolio of properties are compliant, safe, and operationally sound. You’ll work closely with property managers and safety professionals to inspect, maintain, and repair fire doors to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
*Conduct routine inspections and audits of fire doors to ensure compliance with BS 8214 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
*Perform repairs, adjustments, and replacements, including hinges, seals, door closers, and latches, ensuring proper operation and safety.
*Maintain detailed documentation of inspections, repairs, and compliance logs.
*Support fire risk assessments, offering recommendations for improvements.
*Collaborate with property managers, contractors, and stakeholders to schedule maintenance and address fire safety concerns.
*Stay up to date with fire safety standards and regulations, attending training and development as required.
*Provide guidance and basic training to staff on fire door safety and reporting protocols.
About You: You’ll bring technical expertise, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive attitude to ensure all fire door systems meet legal and safety requirements.
Key Skills & Experience:
*Proven experience in fire door installation, inspection, or maintenance.
*Familiarity with fire door components, standards, and legislation, including BS 8214.
*Certifications such as FDIS Diploma or BM Trada certification are highly desirable.
*Strong understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
*Excellent record-keeping and problem-solving skills.
*Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within West London and surrounding areas.
