Job Description:
Full-time Teaching Assistant -
The Pay for the role is £14.18 per hour and is 8.45am to 3.15pm Monday to Friday full time.
REED/LTA are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a Preston based primary school to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who have high needs. This role requires a compassionate individual with a good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and specific training or awareness in areas such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), communication needs, and trauma.
Day-to-day of the role: *Provide targeted support to high needs children in EYFS, working closely with them on a 1:1 basis to facilitate their learning and development.
*Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that meets the individual needs of children.
*Implement personalised learning activities and strategies under the guidance of the lead teacher to support the educational and social development of the children.
*Provide support during lunchtime to ensure a safe and positive environment for all children.
*Collaborate with other staff members to plan and coordinate efforts to maximise student success.
*Monitor and record children’s progress, sharing observations with teachers and parents to better support the children’s needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, preferably within an EYFS setting.
*Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and its implementation.
*Training or understanding in ASD, communication needs, and trauma.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with children, staff, and parents.
*Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
*A compassionate and patient approach with a strong commitment to enhancing children’s educational experiences.
