At Watford Community Housing, we’re committed to building high-quality new homes that help people live better lives. We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Partnerships team as a Quality Manager.
What’s the role?
As part of our Partnerships team, you will use your experience and skills to help us build desperately needed new affordable and market-sale homes.
The right candidate will have experience of leading in the quality management aspect of construction projects, preferably within the housing sector. You will have the ability to act independently and manage aspects of a project lifecycle, taking personal responsibility for managing quality tasks at various stages in a project lifecycle.
You’ll work effectively and proactively with colleagues to ensure the management and delivery of quality, effective housing.
In this role you will need to:
*ensure a high standard of customer service
*lead the Quality and Aftercare Team effectively to ensure high levels of quality are maintained during the project lifecycle
*ensure adequate and regular quality of audits are undertaken, supported by in-house Clerk of Works
*lead on and manage, with the support of the Aftercare Manager, all works within the Defects Liability Period
*Lead and manage the resolution of latent defects
*work with numerous internal teams to ensure quality matters related to new homes are addressed
What are we looking for?
You will be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people. You will have a background in a Quality Manager capacity, and knowledge of the housing or construction sectors is required.
Essential:
*Experience in the construction industry
*Experience leading quality control processed within construction projects in the housing sector
*Experience in an engineering or construction environment
*A good understanding of quality requirements and its application in construction
*A relevant professional or technical qualification
*You will need to hold a UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle, with insurance cover for business use.
Desirable:
*Knowledge of the housing sector
*Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
*Experience of delivering development projects
