About the Client:
Our client is a well-established and growing small accountancy practice based in Northampton. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional accounting, audit, and tax services to a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from SMEs to individuals. As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Accountant to join their team.
The Role:
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in the practice, taking responsibility for managing client relationships, delivering high-quality accounting and tax services, and supporting junior team members. Key Responsibilities:
*Preparing statutory accounts for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
*Managing client relationships and acting as the main point of contact for queries and advice.
*Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, management accounts, and financial statements.
*Assisting with tax computations, including personal and corporate tax.
*Supervising and mentoring junior team members, ensuring high standards of work and professional development.
*Supporting clients with business planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
*Ensuring compliance with current accounting standards and legislation.
Requirements:
*ACCA, ACA, or equivalent qualification (qualified or nearly qualified).
*At least 3-5 years of experience in an accountancy practice environment.
*Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and tax standards.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
*Proven experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff.
*Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
*Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office.
