Job Description:
Tezlom are recruiting a SupportWorker who can provide people with flexible packages of support and have experience working with substance abuse.
The service can provide a variety of supported living arrangements, including: individual homes, shared supported houses and extra care services and within the community.
As a Support Worker some of the duties will include:
*Developing domestic and life skills (house-keeping, shopping, cooking, cleaning, personal care etc.);
*Giving medication;
*Delivering excellent drug and alcohol services to service users and their significant others, including family members friends and carers, to facilitate positive outcomes.
*Managing a case load, coordinating, and delivered assessment and evidence-based interventions (brief and structured), recovery planning and aftercare planning.
*Managing their money, including paying bills;
*Support to attend college, work placements and other activities;
*Accompaniment to appointments;
*Socialising and meeting new people;
*Help accessing other services;
*Travel training;
*Keeping safe and healthy; and
*Filling out forms; and much more.
However, it is important to remember that this is not a complete list and there will be people needing support who do not fit neatly into these groups.
As a Support Worker you will need to focus on getting to know people - how they want to be supported, what they want to achieve in life and what is important to them - to offer support that is as individual as they are.
