Job Description:
Facilities Assistant *Job Type: temporary until 28th of February
*Working hours: 36.5 hours per week, 8:00am start
*Location: Cambridge
*Salary: £12.61
*Start date: ASAP
Reed Cambridge Business Support is working with an educational establishment in Cambridge. They are seeking a proactive and diligent Facilities Assistant to support the Facilities Manager in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficiently run building. The ideal candidate will assist in ensuring the smooth operation of their facilities, contributing to a welcoming and functional environment for staff, visitors, and building users.
Day-to-day of the role: *Building Maintenance: Service and maintain shared areas, meeting rooms, and equipment. Address service requests and perform regular functionality checks.
*Health and Safety: Act as Deputy Fire Safety Manager, assist in compliance tasks, and conduct safety inspections.
*Event Support: Prepare and support the setup for events, ensuring all equipment is functioning.
*Logistical Support: Assist in moving and rearranging furniture, and manage post and deliveries.
*Ordering and Inventory: Maintain stock levels and manage orders, keeping accurate records in Excel.
*Quality Assurance: Conduct daily checks to ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the building.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Excellent organisational and time management skills.
*Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for record-keeping.
*Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
*Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
