Our client, a leading player in the hedge fund industry, is seeking a Middle Office Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role offers an attractive salary range of £60,000 - 90,000 and the opportunity to work in London with a potential relocation to the Middle East. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring robust Middle Office/ Trade Operational Controls on a daily basis, providing core services to clients and internal stakeholders for accurate risk and P&L capture.

What you’ll do:

As a Middle Office Specialist, your role will be pivotal in supporting trading activities across a diverse client base and product range. You will be responsible for T+1 reconciliations, life cycle event management, corporate actions, process improvement and projects. Your ability to prioritise based on risk profile will be critical in this role. You will also need to demonstrate clear and concise communication skills as you will be working closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

* Ensure accurate reconciliation of trades and positions versus prime and clearing brokers across diverse asset classes
* Manage life cycle events including futures expiry monitoring and processing of dividends, coupons and other income events
* Take ownership of all corporate asset processing across fixed income and equity asset classes
* Drive process improvements including technology enhancements and new vendor onboards
* Enhance knowledge through training and maintenance of team procedures and policies
* Complete event reviews and implement risk mitigation improvements

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Middle Office Specialist role brings a wealth of experience from the financial markets sector. With an undergraduate degree in a numerate discipline, you have an excellent understanding of financial markets and possess in-depth knowledge of at least one asset class. Your understanding of hedge fund front-to-back processes coupled with your knowledge of operational risk mitigation strategies makes you an ideal fit for this role. A minimum of three years’ operations experience is required along with advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of VBA, SQL or other programming languages would be desirable.

* Undergraduate degree in a numerate discipline
* Sound understanding of financial markets and in-depth knowledge of at least one asset class: Rates, Credit, Fixed Income, ETDs, FX, Equities
* Understanding of hedge fund front to back processes and market infrastructure
* Excellent knowledge of operational risk and risk mitigation utilising technology, process and controls.
* Minimum 3 years’ operations experience.
* Advanced excel and knowledge of VBA, SQL or other programming languages (desirable)
