Job Description:
Positive Behaviour Support Worker Required!
We are looking for passionate individuals who want to begin working and training as Behaviour Support Workers to support one of our SEND Schools in Horley by helping students aged from 11 to 18 years with social, emotional and mental health needs, alongside autistic spectrum conditions or characteristics, including ADHD.
Applications for the position are welcome from candidates of ranging experience, and training will be provided, although previous experience working with students with SEMH, particularly challenging behaviours and Trauma & Attachment will be helpful. A strong sense of behaviour management will also be key!
Anyone from a youth support, support worker or care worker background, or personal SEND experience is strongly encouraged to apply! Training will be provided to all applicants so the ideal candidate just needs to be passionate, eager to learn and be very resilient. If this sounds like you please apply!
This is also a fantastic opportunity for graduates who want to move into a career in teaching or SEND Education. In particular, any Psychology Graduates are strongly encouraged to apply as we have a range of roles that will be well suited to your background!
Due to the location of the school, the ideal candidate will need to be a driver with access to their own vehicle, as it is not accessible by Public Transport.
Your Role
* Supporting a range of vulnerable children ranging from KS3 to KS4
* Be able to appropriately calm children down and de-escalate
* Be able to effectively behaviour manage
* Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
* Providing feedback to teachers and parents
* Be available - Full time - 8.15am - 3.30pm
The ideal candidate
* Outgoing and mentoring manner
* Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
* You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Special School, so being prepared is vital.
* Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
Why choose Engage Education?

* You will benefit from your own dedicated Engage consultant who will provide ongoing support and guidance
* You will be invited to our wide range of continued professional development (CPD) training sessions, provided by our in-house team of experienced senior leaders. These are completely free to attend!
