Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 Full Time
Job Purpose
As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the care home. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure high standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements. In collaboration with our experienced Nurse-Qualified Registered Manager, you will provide clinical leadership, supervising our dedicated team and ensuring the delivery of personalized care that addresses the needs of our residents.
Hours of Work
This role requires flexibility, as it is not confined to a standard 9-5 schedule. Out-of-hours work is essential to maintain management coverage and ensure seamless operations. You will also be expected to be on call on a week-on-week-off basis.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
*Assist in managing the care home to ensure compliance with CQC standards and all relevant regulations.
*Step in as the acting Registered Manager when necessary, ensuring a consistent standard of care and service delivery.
*Inspire and lead the clinical team, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and professional development.
Clinical Oversight
*Provide clinical expertise and guidance to staff, ensuring evidence-based care practices are upheld.
*Oversee the monitoring of care plans, risk assessments, and medication management tailored to residents’ needs.
*Assist the team with complex cases, offering hands-on support and interventions as required.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
*Assist in preparations for CQC inspections and implement action plans to address areas for improvement.
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, policies, and procedures.
*Participate in audits and contribute to initiatives aimed at continuous quality enhancement.
Resident and Family Engagement
*Cultivate strong relationships with residents, families, and stakeholders, ensuring their voices and needs are respected.
*Promote residents’ emotional and mental well-being through engaging activities and beneficial interventions.
Training and Development
*Mentor and train staff to elevate their skills in mental health care and complex conditions.
*Organize and conduct training sessions to promote best practices and compliance with care standards.
Qualifications and Experience
*Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
*Proven knowledge and experience in mental health care, particularly in a care home environment.
*Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a mental healthcare setting.
*Experience supervising junior staff.
*Expertise in the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) & Mental Health Act (MHA).
*Strong understanding of CQC regulations.
